Crackin' on in Karkloof
Trails: 9/10 Facilities: 8/10
It’s an exciting time to be a mountain biker in the Karkloof area at the moment. While they used to be separate, the Howick and Karkloof trail networks have merged to form one large riding area.
Secondly, SA’s first black-owned trail building business, Nguni Trails, is being incubated in the area and are working on the trails, and lastly, Pyga bikes, who has their base in Howick, is now producing their new aluminium bikes right down the road in Pietermaritzburg. Over and above this, Karkloof continues to offer some of the finest trail riding in South Africa, and we take you for a run down one of our favourite trails, not just in Karkloof, but in South Africa, called isiKhova.
MASSIVE thanks to @jasureinsurance and DSV Global Transport and Logistics for the support and helping us spread the cycling love.
