Rietvlei, Alberton, Gauteng
Rocky play place for bicycles, that is close to town for a quick burn with your mates.
Trail: 7/10 Facilities: 7/10
We found the bike park to be an awesome spot, and the facilities on offer really make this a great spot to take the family with, while you rage around for an hour or so.
With a nice coffee shop, kiddies play area and mini zoo, the kids will be stoked, although there is no designated kids riding area.
Add to this the beautiful scenery and this place has a great mix that makes it a real Bike Park.
Sadly we only had time to do the Blue and Green trails and a bit of Yellow, so this review is really about theBlue and Green trails.
From a riding perspective, there are only three main trails Blue, Green and Yellow. Once again though, its really poor of a bike park to use colours to name their trails, and this park is a prime example of this. The trails are not very well marked at the starting area and it’s not really clear how long the trails are and which one is which with regards to difficulty. From riding them we found the Blue to be difficult (should be a Black rated Trail), the Green to be medium (should be a Blue rated Trail) and Yellow to be easy (Green rated Trail).
So the signage is not great at all in terms of the info you get from them.
